- 2 cups whole wheat for oat flour
- 1/2 cup unsalted, unsweetened peanut butter Make certain it doesn't not contain xylitol which is toxic to dogs.
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup water
- Optional: Rolled oats for decoration
Instructions:
-
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper
-
In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, peanut butter, eggs, and water.
-
Mix the ingredients together until you have a thick, dough-like consistency. If the dough is too dry, you can add a bit more water, a tablespoon at a time.
-
-
Roll out the dough on a floured surface to about 1/4 inch (0.6 cm) thickness.
-
Use cookie cutters to cut out shapes for your dog treats. You can use bone-shaped cookie cutters, paw prints, or any other shape you prefer.
-
Place the cutout shapes onto the prepared baking sheet. If you'd like, you can sprinkle some rolled oats on top of the treats for decoration.
-
Bake in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes or until the treats are golden brown. Baking time may vary depending on your oven and the thickness of the treats, so keep an eye on them to prevent overcooking.
-
Once the treats are done, remove them from the oven and let them cool completely on a wire rack. The treats will harden as they cool.
-
Once they are completely cool, store them in an airtight container. These treats can last for a few weeks
Remember to feed these homemade treats to your dog in moderation and consult with your veterinarian if your dog has any allergies or dietary restrictions.
